ableton 8.0.1 not seeing vsts

recently put windows 7 on my computer. i also deleted all of my vsts and am reinstalling/reorganizing as well as getting rid of a bunch of shit i don't use.

all i have installed at this point is rob papen plugins, albino, predator, and sub boom bass. ableton will not find them at all.

i downloaded a program called VSTHost and they all work fine in there.

any ideas?

going to try 8.2.1 and see if anything changes.

IT'S WEIRD THAT THE WRAPPER SEES THEM OK; THOSE DARN VST WRAPPERS USUALLY CAUSE LOTS OF PROBLEMS FOR ME. I DOUBT THAT'S THE PROBLEM HERE THOUGH.

I JUST GOT ABOUT 10-12 OLD VSTS WORKING THAT I HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT AND DIDN'T REALIZE WEREN'T SHOWING UP WHILE I WAS TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT

i've figured it out.

i was installing the 64 bit versions of these vsts and ableton does not support those in the version i am using.

i also figured out that none of the plugins i'm trying to install that are cracked by R2R are installing properly.

you can also scan your plugins folder

is that like uncommon knowledge or something? that is the first thing i do every time i reinstall a vst.

you can also hold alt while you scan the plug in folder and it will rescan and repopulate everything rather than just add new stuff.

ok well,

a lot of people are just used to their plugins showing up and they are unaware that you can point your DAW to find other folders.

having said that.. I am having a bitch of a time getting shit to show up in Maschine

yeah sorry wasn't trying to come off like a dick. it was just weird 'cause i had multiple other people tell me the same thing. i just assumed it was common knowledge, but then again i don't install all my shit to the default folder which is where i'm assuming ableton looks first as well. on this laptop i've always installed to d:\VST so i've always had to point my DAW there as well.

that sucks about the maschine. ni software can be weird sometimes.

i just installed guitar rig 5 though and it looks pretty sick.




and if anyone has the novation plugins for pc that work, lemme have 'em

which Novation plugs do you need?

I have Bass Station and V Station

they are both monsters

yeah, as far as the Maschine.. I haven't tried to find my plugins.. I just need to remember to do so haha
after Thursday night, I'll be diving back into the beats at full force

yeah those are the two i had downloaded and neither installed correctly.

chris jackson of the applied pressure crew/band here in town plays on two maschines when they do their live thing. i haven't asked him if he's using vsts or samples but it's pretty sick. since we're working with NI at dub academy, i should be able to get into maschine pretty soon and i'm pretty stoked.

I'm pretty excited to finally create a tune from the ground up on it. so far all I have done is add onto tunes I started before I got it
