"The thing I love about Dan is that he's always had a funky spirit and he always pushes the elements of music" - Carl Cox

“DJ Dan is the pivotal ingredient to live Djing and production - a real teacher to all.” - DJ Sneak.

DJ Dan has been synonymous with the American dance music industry for over two decades as a record collector, house innovator and true legend of the scene. However, his music bandwidth stretches much further; representing the spirit of 70’s disco and 80’s/90’s house with contemporary flair that makes him like no other artist on the scene. People have been missing the funk and that’s what DJ Dan does best.

Born and raised on the West coast, Dan was entrenched in music from an early age, 1989 to be exact, a time when the rave scene was blossoming. Sharpening his skills spinning vinyl at small clubs in Seattle, Dan’s experience in the late 80’s behind the decks converted into a profound knowledge of what people want on the dance floor, a trait still ingrained in him today. The early 90’s saw Dan move to Los Angeles, feeding the roots of the emerging underground scene in the US. As the scene exploded Dan was at the center of a musical revolution; underground promoters snapped up his ability to blend breaks, disco and all things funky that inadvertently placed him as the leading figure on the rave scene.

In 1993; a move to San Francisco with a re-invented sound that lended itself more to acid house and electro, Dan instigated the formation of the legendary group Funky Tekno Tribe that sought to push the boundaries of house music. Dan’s innovative eye for promotion saw him implement the recordings and distribution of ‘mixtapes’, a simple yet revolutionary method that soon developed into a frenzied culture that remains an electronic music mainstay, in various forms today. With an ear for good music and eye for new talent, it was at this time that the FTT brought an unknown French duo to tear up one of their parties… Daft Punk never looked back.

This period marked the beginning of the burgeoning breakbeat genre that encapsulated house, dubs and techno. At the heart, DJ Dan, who generated the fused rhythms that were dubbed the ‘West Coast House Sound.’ As global demand grew for his skills behind the turntables, Dan’s 1995 single under the moniker Electroliners was a result of a shift in the American who decided to dedicate more time to producing music. ‘Loose Caboose’ proved to be one of the definitive tracks from the breakbeat era and encompassed the talents that inspired many to follow.

Many visionary artists have queued up to bottle Dan’s unique sound; with a remix discography that reads like a music industry hall of fame; Depeche Mode, New Order, the Pussycat Dolls and a Tribe Called Quest have all enlisted the boss of breakbeat to tap into his hailed production abilities. Earning his first Platinum record in 1999, Dan’s remix of the Orgy cover ‘Blue Monday’ was revered around the world and reaffirmed his reputation on a global scale; re-working seemingly untouchable records with expert precision. The late-200’s was another period of huge remixes for Dan; most notably, his timeless remixes of ‘Paparazzi’ and ‘Bad Romance’ by Lady Gaga. While dance producers working with pop starts is the thing to do in 2013, Dan preceded the trend by adding his electronic music clout to Janet Jackson’s 2010 hit ‘Make Me.’ In September of 2010, Dan went on to release one of his finest achievements, his debut artist album, ‘Future Retro” – titled after and the embodiment of Dan’s 20+ years in the industry.

MIDNIGHT CONSPIRACY
Laser Light & Heavy Bass Experience

From behind the sixteen foot laser and LED structure dubbed “Eye Live,” Midnight Conspiracy emerges as a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma that will literally overload your senses and still leave you coming back for more.

When the dark, moody, and even ominous undertones of their hard-hitting, no-holds-barred bass drops and harmonic melodies lift, you’ll be left pondering a few things. What is the Midnight Conspiracy? Who is behind it? Where did the last two hours of my life go? These aren’t questions that we can answer for you. These are questions that only you can answer, and only after experiencing Midnight Conspiracy live. Here’s what we can tell you:

Throughout history, imagery of “The Eye” has been associated with everything from secret societies to ancient deities, but Midnight Conspiracy is concerned with something much different: using an out of this world light show and their own special blend of heavy bass to put on an unforgettable show. It worked. They’re signed to the legendary Ultra Records, which is also home to favorites like: Deadmau5, Bloody Beetroots, Wolfgang Gartner and Benny Benassi. In addition to the DIY endeavor that is the “Eye Live—Laser Light & Heavy Bass Experience,” they also started the art collective and clothing line Dead Fame. They’ve risen to the top of Hype Machine, Beatport and BBC Radio 1, along with destroying stages at Lollapalooza and Ultra Music Festival.

Is Midnight Conspiracy a collection of heavy bass, mixed with electro and topped with dubstep? Or, is it some sort of mystical, musical chimera with a singular goal of putting on the best show you’ve ever experienced? Or, is it a perfectly produced musical narrative that evolved into live instrumentation and ultimately into a sixteen foot bastion of laser lights and brain-melting bass? The correct answer is all of the above, but “The Eye” commands something else entirely. Put yourself in its gaze at a show and get inducted into the Midnight Conspiracy.

Change pervades our time and visionary ears are looking for a voice that has previously been lost amongst two minute attention spans and a willful ignorance of history. In a time where music seems to be more uninspired than ever and true tonal expression is rarely found, there lies one entity to provide hope for the dance. Lost Prophet shows you that you can't spell Universe without U and I.

Keeping it fresh, keeping it broken, definitely keeping it nasty, and holding it down in “The Live Music Capital of the World”, Austin, TX, 8*B1t is very steadily gaining solid recognition in the breakbeat circuit. As a founding member of the funktastic party rockin' breaks crew Broke Nasty and equipped with a modest string of well received releases and remixes under his belt, his resume also includes a wide array of DJ sets and mixes with impeccable track lists boasting only the finest cutting edge broken beat noise that the genre has to offer.

Since breaking into the game with his first few releases on US breakbeat labels such as Kick It and Royal One, his punchy and in-your-face production style has garnered the attention and support of some of the most respected contributors in the game. Smashing together influences taken from his love for hip-hop, dubstep, drum and bass, as well as big beat and the classic sounds of nuskool breaks, his music always brandishes a dash of pure good old balls-to-the-wall attitude which is reflected in his live DJ sets as well. With a keen ear for sound and a dedication to ever-increasing quality and perfection in his craft, 2013 can definitely expect some nifty and nasty broken beat ruckus from 8*B1t.

Introduced into the Houston Underground scene in early 2007, Buda Love was well respected as a promoter long before he ever picked up a microphone. In early 2010 he began his career as a Dubstep MC and very quickly became what many have described as "The premiere MC in the Houston Underground Dubstep Scene". Buda Love had the advantage of getting to work with his home-town hero and local icon Badbwoy BMC, The founder of Texas Dub. Buda Love has also provided local support by MC'ing for international talents such as Helicopter Showdown, Dubsidia, Hulk, Roommate, Noah D, Jakes, as well as many others. With his combination of H-town swagger, rudebwoy ways, and a heart like a lion, Buda Love looks to push things forward and see how far this thing can really go as an Independent Artist and the CEO of one of Texas' fastest growing production companies.
