i don't like booking agents.

depends. some are lifesavers. some are cokehead windbags who can't feature why you don't hang on their every word and buy them dinner.

when guerilla was acting as my agent last year, he did a bang up job.

i hate asking people for gigs and then shaking them down for cash.

i could/would benefit from a manager/agent for sure. as long as they love what they do and have decided to do it out of a love for music in general. i'd hate to have someone who is all business and who doesn't even get the music or care for it in the slightest. that would suck.

I hate musicians with uber-large egos.. they ruined it for me. And promoters generally suck too. To make it as an agent, you need to either be really well connected (which in the electronic arts, I was not) or a slime bag cut throat who hands out shorts like it was their job (which I couldnt be even if I wanted to, hence my booking-agent-fail).

i'm talking from a promoter standpoint.

i do not want to book who you are trying to get me to book. i haven't at any point in the past year you've been hitting me up.

when i say i like someone else on your roster don't tell me "WELL THEY SOUND JUST LIKE THE OTHER ACT I'M TRYING TO GET YOU TO BOOK"

My biggest problem as an agent was all the invalids ... no sort of clout what-so-ever that are willing to work for peanuts asking for shows, and nobodys trying to book em, vs. someone who has clout and wants way too much so you end up getting static when you get responses for booking but then tell them the asking price.
