One of the oldest jungle crews in the United States, Tha Purrin Lion formed back in February of 1995 from a desire to throw parties in Houston that featured Jungle DJs for the entire show instead of just for an hour or as a side attraction. The event, Respect, went off well and from that many more nights were spawned as well as collection of Djs that came together known as Tha Purrin Lion Sound Flex Crew.
Tha Purrin Lion can be found djing at parties or club nights playing an eclectic mix of styles from Old School Ragga Jungle, Drum & Bass, Hip Hop, UK Garage, to the occasional Dancehall. Whatever the style, the common thread is up front urban music.

ever since i can remember i've always listened to vinyl. playing records has taken me to some really cool places and most of my close friendships have evolved from it.
started buying records in 84' and has played everything imaginable. moved into austin in 96' from houston and hooked up with dj mel,coy west,chris spect,twist-one and merrick brown with 626 soul which gained a reputation for organizing some of the best renegades in austin.
was fortunate enough to get involved with the mental note crew, cris parsons,grommit,rion king and toyaycoyah and had a blast throwing down at the well known plush mental note weekly which became a staple for quality drum and bass.
